Aden, NewsYemen:

On Monday, the Council of Ministers held a meeting headed by Maeen Abdul-Malik, to discuss the ideas and proposals to be taken to implement the decision to classify the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - as a terrorist organization.

Last Saturday, the National Defense Council issued a decision to classify the Houthi militia as a terrorist organization, and directed the government to "complete the necessary procedures to implement the decision."

While it was expected that it would start taking practical steps towards implementing the decision, the government allocated today's meeting to deliberate a number of ideas and proposals to be taken, according to official sources.

According to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the meeting assigned the ministries concerned with the economic and humanitarian file and the Central Bank of Yemen to submit proposals and submit them to the Council of Ministers for discussion and taking the necessary action.

The agency stated that the Prime Minister directed to "put the necessary alternatives to avoid the repercussions of the decision on the lives of citizens in areas controlled by the Houthi militia."

The meeting also reassured the "national capital that it will not be exposed to any damage as a result of the decision," stressing "the keenness of the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to protect the commercial and industrial sector in the areas controlled by the terrorist Houthi militia, and to take everything that ensures the smooth flow of goods and merchandise."
