Taiz, NewsYemen, special:

On Saturday, Taiz countryside witnessed armed clashes, after military formations affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood handed over military positions to armed groups led by the commander of the so-called Transport Brigade called "Amjad Khaled", accused of orchestrating assassinations in the capital, Aden.

According to local sources, the Al-Jahili area, located between the two districts of Al-Shamaytain and Al-Maqatira, witnessed clashes between gunmen from the area and others affiliated with the so-called Amjad Khaled, after they deployed in a military site in the area.

It said that the elements of Amjad Khaled had recently taken over the military site located in the area by the so-called forces of the Fourth Infantry Mountain Brigade, led by the Brotherhood Brigadier General Abu Bakr al-Jaboli, who rushed to send military reinforcements to support Amjad Khaled's elements.

While the sources indicated that the situation is still tense in the region, they noted that the clashes reflect the increasing popular rejection in the Al-Hujariyah areas for the presence of Amjad Khaled elements, most of whom are terrorist and criminal elements wanted by the security authorities in the governorates of Lahj and Aden.

Recent media reports confirmed the arrival of dozens of terrorist organization members to the areas of the countryside of Taiz, or the so-called "Al-Hujariyah", after they fled from areas in Abyan and Shabwa after they were purged by the southern forces.

The people link between the presence of the so-called "Amjad Khaled" and the incidents of detonating explosive devices in Taiz countryside for the first time in its history, and the presence of these elements raises their fears of turning their areas into a base for targeting the south.

These fears increase with the disclosure of a tendency by the Brotherhood to redeploy its military formations in the countryside of Taiz, by handing over some military sites in the Al-Shamaytain district, including the Al-Jahili site and Al-Afa camp in the Al-Asabeh area, to the armed elements led by Amjad Khaled, and transferring the stationing of the Jabouli forces to the Directorate of Al-Maqatira and towards the borders of Al-Sabiha areas in Lahj.
