Terrorism hides behind booby traps, and the community in the central regions trusts its southern forces

The security situation has improved in the central and coastal areas of Abyan governorate, since the entry of Operation Siham al-Sharq and the deployment of the Security Belt forces in the central districts of the governorate.
Calm and stability returned to the central areas after the security belt forces took control, as these areas did not record any assassination incidents in the last two months, except for three terrorist operations, with explosive devices that did not cause human or material damage.
It is noteworthy that the central and coastal regions, before the entry of the southern forces, witnessed assassinations, interruptions and the spread of al-Qaeda elements while they were under the control of the forces loyal to the Brotherhood.
The Security Belt forces succeeded in establishing security and stability in the central regions after a campaign of raids they carried out on some villages, during which they arrested terrorist elements operating as sleeper cells.
Citizens praised the role played by the Security Belt units in stabilizing security in the central regions and eliminating terrorist elements, calling on the security services to intensify the intelligence aspect to control terrorist cells in the region.
The southern forces are facing terrorist threats in the Al-Mahfad district and east of the Mudiyah district, due to the presence of al-Qaeda sleeper cells, which are working to deplete the military and security forces, by planting explosive devices and mines.
Over the past few weeks, terrorist groups have targeted military vehicles with explosive devices, mines, and booby-trapped main and secondary lines in the Al-Mahfad district to obstruct and deplete the progress of the southern forces.
A few days ago, the southern armed forces deployed additional military forces, and declared a state of emergency in the Al-Mahfad district, following the rise in terrorist operations against its members in the district.
The mountainous areas and rugged valleys east of Al-Mahfad District, all the way to Al-Masna’a in Shabwa, still represent the black hole of terrorism, and from these areas, explosive devices and mines are being prepared to target the southern forces in Abyan and Shabwa.
The southern forces carried out a lightning military operation in the Al-Mahfad district, which culminated in the liberation of Wadi Al-Khayala, one of the largest strongholds of terrorist organizations in Abyan Governorate.
Observers believe that the booby-traps and explosive devices used by terrorist groups against members of the southern forces will only stop with qualitative military operations, on the rugged valleys and mountains in Al-Mahfad and the border areas with Shabwa, and clearing them of these criminal elements.
Journalist Adel Al-Madwari said that these areas where terrorist organizations are holed up devoured the heroes of the south every day, detonating two explosions and explosive devices in Al-Mahfad and Shabwa.
The journalist Al-Madwari called on the southern forces to purify these areas before they grow up and the bill of the martyrs is prolonged, stressing that this will not be done without a comprehensive campaign from the direction of Shabwa and from the direction of the central region of Abyan.
