Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

The terrorist Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, has acquired huge financial revenues from state institutions in its areas of control since its coup on September 21, 2014, accompanied by illegal levies collected from merchants and citizens under names including the war effort and sectarian religious activities.

For eight years, citizens in militia-controlled areas have not experienced anything but hunger and poverty, which exacerbated with the confiscation of salaries and their contentment with only half a salary every six months.

On the other hand, he notes the cases of the wealth that the leaders of the militias who came from Saada have become, and who do not have the sustenance at that time, and they talk about fighting corruption and the rights of the people.

Iran’s arm controls tax and customs revenues, which it has created collection points for at the entrances to its areas of control, as well as revenues from the telecommunications sector, endowments, zakat and the port of Hodeidah, as well as the revenues it derives from the black markets that it established after creating crises.

During the last period, the militias sought to conceal the true volume of their annual revenues, countered by the promotion of allegations of the battle of pride and dignity, which they finance from illegal levies and royalties, which have become official and the consequences of which are borne by the simple citizen.

And the Yemeni government revealed, in a statement issued by it in early October, that the militia achieved 203 billion riyals, which is the revenues of 54 shipments of fuel that entered the port of Hodeidah during the humanitarian truce that began on April 2 and ended on October 2, after the Iranian arm stipulated that the salaries of employees in its areas of control be paid from  Oil and gas revenues only and its refusal to include Hodeidah revenues in the salary disbursement amounts.

It is noted that the Houthi militia’s control areas have witnessed, during the past five years, an urban renaissance and an expansion of stations selling oil derivatives, exchange companies, commercial centers and pharmaceutical companies, all of which follow Houthi leaders from the first and second ranks, offset by the escalation of poverty and hunger, which intensified after the militias looted the food aid provided by international organizations, which they reduced after the militias refused to abide by the disbursement procedures approved by them.
