Aden, NewsYemen, special:

The Southern Transitional Council has recently escalated its moves and statements rejecting the continued obstruction of the transfer of state institutions from the grip of the Houthi militia in Sanaa to Aden, since the legitimacy decision to take it as the capital more than 7 years ago.

Where the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council affirmed, in its regular meeting on Tuesday, its full support for the efforts made by the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Muhammad Saeed Al-Zauri regarding the implementation of the decision of the Presidential Leadership Council, which stipulated the transfer of the headquarters of the Social Fund for Development to the capital, Aden.  As of July 21, 2022 .

The Presidency of the Transitional Council stressed the need to take the necessary measures to implement it, and to address international donors to supply aid and financial grants for the Fund to the Central Bank of Aden.

The authority also stressed the need for the Prime Minister to expedite the implementation of the decision of the Presidential Leadership Council and to start the process of transferring the headquarters of the Fund and the Public Works Project to the capital, Aden, which is obligatory to implement it upon its issuance.

This position comes in light of the battle that the minister affiliated with the transitional has been waging for nearly a year against the decision taken by the World Bank and the United Nations UNICEF to transfer one of the largest international aid projects for Yemenis to the Social Fund for Development under the control of the Houthis in Sanaa.

Late last year, the Bank and the organization approved the transfer of the “emergency cash transfers” project worth up to $100 million from the government’s Social Welfare Fund in Aden to the Social Fund for Development under the control of the Houthi terrorist group in Sana’a, which sparked the objection and rejection of the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor  , which demanded the Prime Minister to quickly transfer the management of the Social Fund for Development to Aden.

The leadership of the Southern Transitional Council accuses forces within the legitimacy of placing obstacles in the way of all attempts and efforts that have sought for more than seven years to transform Aden as a real capital alternative to Sanaa, which is under the control of the terrorist Houthi militia, by transferring all state institutions to it.

These accusations were repeated yesterday, Monday, by a member of the Presidency of the Transitional Council, Nasser Al-Khubaji, in an interview with the council’s “Independent Aden” channel about the passage of 3 years since the signing of the Riyadh Agreement.  Efforts to transfer state institutions from Sanaa to Aden and activate them in a real way.

Al-Khubaji pointed out that telecommunications companies, commercial banks and the headquarters of international organizations will remain in Sana'a, blaming the prime minister primarily for being his mission, pointing out his refusal to date to restructure the state's regulatory bodies, such as the Central Organization for Control and Accountability and the Supreme Anti-Corruption Authority.

On his interpretation of this, Al-Khubaji said that these obstacles against activating state institutions and transferring them to Aden are due to the belief of the obstructing forces that this would facilitate the “secession” of the south and the restoration of southerners to their state, stressing that some of these obstructing forces affiliated with the Presidential Council have relations and interests with a group  Houthi.
