Hodeidah, NewsYemen, private:

International intelligence sources revealed a tripartite terrorist meeting that included prominent military leaders of the Houthi militia, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and the Lebanese Hezbollah in the Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, in order to arrange terrorist operations against merchant ships passing through the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.

The former media spokesman for the "Joint Task Force" formed by the international coalition, Muzahim Al-Salloum, explained that an intelligence source revealed a secret meeting held by 3 leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, a leader in the Lebanese Hezbollah and a number of Houthi leaders a few days ago in the city of Saleef in Hodeidah Governorate to discuss preparing to launch terrorist attacks against merchant ships passing through the Red Sea off the coast of the governorate, in order to strike international commercial shipping passing through the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Al-Salloum said, in a series of tweets posted on his Twitter account, translated by the NewsYemen editor, that the intelligence source confirmed that the terrorist attacks would be carried out through booby-trapped boats, as well as through naval mines that would be deployed in the international shipping lane.

He pointed out that the plans to launch terrorist attacks against ships in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait came under the guidance of the Iranian regime, which needs major new developments and events in the Gulf region, in order to relieve internal pressure due to the escalation of Iranian popular protests.

According to the source, the justification for these attacks will be the Saudi rejection of the Houthis' unreasonable conditions, which included the Houthis' demand to pay Saudi salaries to the Houthi armed forces.
