Murder, kidnapping and torture.. "Zainabiyat al-Houthi" is the ugly face of Yemeni women's terrorism

 Many inmates of the women’s section of the central prison in Sana’a were surprised by the entry of Houthi female soldiers who were shooting and assaulting female prisoners participating in protesting against malnutrition and the increasing violations they were subjected to by Houthi women leaders inside the section.

A few days before the prison incident, Yemeni activists published on social media that Houthi female soldiers stormed the gate of a private school for girls and attacked the principal and teachers, insulting them in a way that provoked the Yemeni street. 

A frightening escalation of crimes and violations committed by the women's Houthi militia, who call themselves "Zeinabiyat".  As this women's militia apparatus has become masterful in committing various crimes against Yemeni women, from storming homes, kidnapping women activists, suppressing women's protests, and other crimes that Iran's arm is mastering committed against Yemenis.

 The formation of "Zeinabiyat" represented a clear evidence of the great hostility of the Houthi militias against Yemeni women, which has become exposed, with a desire for revenge and violence against women and the practice of all forms of oppression and violence against them.  The Houthi militias entrust this formation, similar to the women’s forces in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, to carry out many tasks to carry out incursions, arrest women activists, break up demonstrations and vigils, in addition to other special tasks, such as spying, inciting opponents, monitoring opinions and prosecuting activists in private sessions and workplaces.

The women Houthi leaders who lead this armed formation are also charged with incitement, indoctrination and sectarian mobilization by giving many lectures, lessons and courses to groups of women and girls in every district, neighborhood and neighborhood in the governorates they control.

A report confirmed that the Houthi "Zeinabiyat" brigades had become specialized in carrying out the dirty tasks of the Houthis, noting that these crimes and violations affected families and penetrated all customs, traditions and values, and caused conflicts, crimes and a great separation between segments of society.

 A report issued by the Yemeni Network for Rights and Freedoms documented that the women's military wing of the Houthi militia, known as "Al-Zunaibiyat", committed 1,444 violations during five years.  The crimes ranged from committing murder, arbitrary arrest and detention of women, looting and sexual assault, beating, torture, rape in secret detention centers, prosecuting Yemeni activists, attacking women protesters, as well as recruiting girls and students in schools and universities.

 The human rights network, a non-governmental organization, confirmed that these violations were committed during the period from December 2017 to the end of October of this year 2022, including the involvement in the killing of (9) women, (6) cases of death due to severe beatings with batons and copper cables, and (3) cases  As a result of a direct gunshot.  

Houthi Zainabiyat also caused the injury of 42 women.

During the same period, the network recorded about (172) cases of violations against civilian objects carried out by women's militia battalions, with (31) raids on service and health facilities, (76) raids and searches of many educational facilities (schools and universities), and (65)  A case of a raid on houses of worship and Quran memorization centers.

 It also kidnapped about (571) women, while they are still in the prisons of the terrorist Houthi militia supervised by the "Zeinabiyat" (231), whose information and data have been verified.  According to the network report.

The report pointed out that the "Zeinabiyat" subjected about 62 kidnapped and forcibly disappeared persons to psychological and physical torture inside the prisons of the Houthi militia supervised by the "Zeinabiyat", and recruited about (4,000) members of the "Zeinabiyat", who received combat training in Sana'a, and some of them in Lebanon.  And Iran at the hands of experts from Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.
