Aden, NewsYemen:

Human rights sources reported that the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - is practicing various forms of torture against the Yemeni fashion model, Intisar Al-Hammadi, who was kidnapped last year.

The sources confirmed that the Houthi official in charge of the central prison in Sana'a, where she is staying, beat her, which resulted in her having a broken nose.

Human rights activists called on international organizations in Sanaa to visit the kidnapped young woman and see her humanitarian situation in prison.

The Houthi militia had kidnapped the 20-year-old artist, Intisar Al-Hammadi, while she was on her way with her two friends to a photo session, on February 20, 2021.

In November 2021, a Houthi court of first instance sentenced her and one of her companions to 5 years in prison, and the other to 3 years in prison, from the date of their abduction.

In May 2021, Amnesty International reported that Al-Hammadi was forced to confess to several crimes, including drug possession and prostitution.

Amnesty International also revealed that the Houthis forced Intisar to sign a document while she was blindfolded during interrogation. They offered to release her if she helped them entrap their enemies with sex and drugs, stressing that prison guards verbally abused her.
