Sana'a, NewsYemen:

The media and popular presence of the head of what was known as the revolutionary committees of the Houthi militia, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, is increasing day after day, in conjunction with the constant disappearance of the militia leader, Abdulmalik al-Houthi, who only appears on sectarian occasions to give lectures.

This matter was referred to by the researcher and military analyst, Ali al-Dahab, in a series of tweets on Twitter, commenting on Muhammad al-Houthi's current visit to the city of Taiz, and circulating videos of the latter meeting citizens in the streets.

Al-Dahab believes that Muhammad al-Houthi went to strengthen his popular power, south, towards Ibb and Taiz, which were mired in the corruption of his group, pointing out that Muhammad al-Houthi's resort to solving intractable problems for decades, in Ibb, presented him as the best populist leader among his peers in his group.

Al-Dahab believes that Muhammad al-Houthi constitutes the most prominent challenge to the political leadership project of Abdulmalik al-Houthi, and his ambition extends to his sons and brothers, among the challenges of his main opponents, the party of the legitimate government.

He said that whenever Muhammad al-Houthi attended, popularly, Abdulmalik disappeared, except for an incomplete appearance, from a place outside reality, wondering, "Who will make the other join Al-Samad?"

Ali al-Dahab points out that the tools of conflict between the two men do not stop at the war of the tyrannical appearance of Muhammad al-Houthi, and the imposition of the absence of the security prosecutor for Abdulmalik, and he made it clear that there is an undeclared conflict over the armed formations that Muhammad al-Houthi is still in control of, namely the brigades and battalions of the popular committees, which represent another number in the equation of his strength, as they are still operating independently.

After the Houthi militia officially announced its coup against power in early January 2015, Muhammad al-Houthi was announced as the leader of what was known as the revolutionary committees that were assigned to run state institutions, before the Supreme Political Council was formed in late July 2016 headed by the deceased Houthi leader Saleh al-Sammad to curb the influence of Muhammad al-Houthi, who was appointed as a member of this council.

Nevertheless, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi was able to put his hand on the judiciary, endowments, and justice by forming what became known as the "justice system" that he heads, in conjunction with expanding his military influence, leading to an armed clash in Sana'a with the military commander of the militias, Abu Ali al-Hakim, who intervened to lift the siege which Muhammad al-Houthi imposed on Mahdi al-Mashat, who took over the presidency of the Political Council after the killing of al-Samad.

Al-Dahab spoke in his tweets about the popular presence that Muhammad Al-Houthi achieved in the governorates surrounding Sana'a, to the extent that he described him as the president, or "the shadow president", bypassing Mahdi Al-Mashat, who has become a joke.

He said that the conservatives call "Muhammad al-Houthi" the "next president", based on the assumption that his opponents will be crushed, and that his authority will rule the north.
