The port of Hodeidah, western Yemen, received 77 ships with nearly two million tons of oil derivatives on board during the year 2022 for the benefit of the Houthi militia, which sold consumers in Sana’a a 20-liter tank of gasoline at high prices ranging from 10 to 16 thousand, and between 12 to 18 thousand for diesel, unlike the prices  The black market run by the group.

According to the data of the movement of ships that left the port of Hodeidah after unloading their cargo, out of the total number of ships for the year 2022, the port received 72 ships during the period from April 1 to December 25, 2022.  It is the period of the hypothetical UN armistice, with a yield of oil derivatives amounting to 1,920,478 tons.

This amount was distributed among 907,182 tons of diesel, 799,909 tons of oil, in addition to 43,332 tons of gas, 83,633 tons of diesel, 59,733 tons of diesel oil, and 26,689 tons of diesel fuel.

 8 ships in November

As of December 25, 2022, 5 oil derivatives ships had left the port of Hodeidah after unloading their estimated cargo of 143,829 tons, including 58,888 tons of petroleum and 58,270 tons of diesel.

In November 2022, the port of Hodeidah received 8 oil derivatives ships, with a quantity of 215,062 tons, of which 87,411 tons were petroleum, and 118,421 tons were diesel.

In October of the same year, 9 oil derivatives ships unloaded their cargo at the port of Hodeidah, an estimated load of 267,530 tons, of which 88,473 tons of petroleum and 149,078 tons of diesel.

327 thousand tons in September

In September, 13 ships left the port after unloading 327,106 tons of oil derivatives, including 117,106 tons of petroleum and 171,197 tons of diesel.

In August, the port received 9 oil derivative ships with a total quantity of 242,941 tons of oil derivatives, of which 118,646 tons were gasoline and 115,900 tons were diesel.

In July, 5 ships unloaded their cargo, amounting to 143,635 tons, of which 55,688 tons of gasoline and 57,735 tons of diesel.

Unloading 9 ships in May

Before this quantity, the port of Hodeidah received, in June, 7 ships with a quantity of 163,363 tons of oil derivatives, of which 90,532 tons were gasoline, and 64,599 tons were diesel.

In May 2022, 9 oil derivatives ships unloaded their cargo, amounting to 245,789 tons of oil derivatives, of which 86,007 tons of gasoline and 122,019 tons of diesel.

In April 2022, the port of Hodeidah received 7 oil derivatives ships with 171,215 tons on board, including 97,053 tons of gasoline and 49,973 tons of diesel.

According to the data of the port of Hodeidah - NewsYemen obtained a copy of it - about 10 shipping companies shared the loading and unloading of oil derivatives to the port of Hodeidah during the period from April to December 2022 in varying proportions.

 Of the total ships of oil derivatives leaving the port of Hodeidah after unloading their cargo in 2022 AD, there are 12 ships of Saba International Company by 16%, similar to that of Injaz Navigation Company by 16%, and by International Navigation by 16% as well.

The two companies, Al-Mukaybar Shipping, and Al-Qubatan Shipping, had an equal number of 8 ships, 11% each, then Royal Plus Company, with 7 ships, and 9% of the total number of ships.

The Sindbad Navigation Company contributed 4 oil derivatives ships, at a rate of 5%, then the Middle East Company with 3 ships, at a rate of 4%, followed by Al-Bakari Navigation Company with two ships and a rate of 2%, equal to the two Saba Navigation companies.  and the Arabian Sea with two ships each and a similar percentage.

Commissions and price doses

The Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - calculates customs fees of 1030 riyals for every 20 liters of gasoline, in addition to 210 riyals under the name of the oil company's commission, and 240 riyals as internal transportation fees, in addition to the amount of 440 riyals under the name of station agents' commissions.

Despite the influx of oil derivative ships during the year 2022 AD, the Houthi militia continued to sell these materials to consumers at insane prices. Until August, it was selling 20 liters of gasoline at a price of 12,000 riyals, and diesel at 13,800 riyals.

The year 2022 witnessed successive fabricated crises, with the disappearance of oil derivatives from the markets and the closure of stations, and the average price of a petrol tank reached 30,000 riyals, and 40,000 for diesel in what is known as the black market run by the group.

During the year 2022, he announced shy reductions in the prices of oil derivatives, ranging from 400-500 riyals in the price of one 20-liter bottle.
