Sana'a, NewsYemen, exclusive:

The eyes of the Yemenis are turning towards next Friday, which falls on the 30th of this December, the same date that activists announced that it will be the beginning of a popular uprising in Sanaa against the terrorist Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.

During the past few days, a hashtag appeared on the social networking site Twitter with the hashtag "#I'm_down_30_December_Tahrir_Square" carrying an invitation to participate in the uprising targeting the Houthi militia in response to its corruption.

This hashtag received the interaction of a wide range of Yemeni activists, especially those residing abroad, who considered it the beginning of a revolution to uproot the Houthi militia and rid Yemen of Iranian hegemony that has been going on for eight years, and has caused havoc and destruction throughout the country.

What attracted most attention was the interaction of activists and politicians affiliated with the Houthi militia with this hashtag, headed by the Houthi political and media activist, Ahmed Al-Imad, who published a series of tweets in which he talked about the popular preparations for this day and considered this day as the last opportunity to get rid of the rule of the Houthi militia, which he accused of injustice  everybody.

Al-Imad also claimed that he is coordinating with security supervisors in Sana'a, Ibb, Mahwit and Hajjah to support this uprising, which raises questions about the reality of this uprising, in which Houthi supervisors responsible for committing hundreds of crimes and violations against civilians in the areas under their supervision will participate.

Al-Emad and others interacting with this hashtag identified three main demands for canceling what they called the upcoming popular revolution on December 30. These were the payment of all employees’ salaries within days, the release of all prisoners of conscience, an official apology to them, holding presidential elections, and announcing a reduction in the prices of oil derivatives and basic foodstuffs, which are  Demands that are impossible for the Houthi militia to implement, even if they are breathing their last as a de facto authority in Sanaa and the northern governorates.

Observers believe that this call for an uprising may be a trap set by the Houthi militia in order to identify and arrest the forces opposing it, in anticipation of any possible moves by the forces of legitimacy to carry out a similar uprising, especially since the meeting of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, with the governors of a number of governorates on Wednesday, touched on  To reports of widespread discontent and boiling against the authority of terrorist militias, and the measures required to protect those voices, enhance the presence of social figures, opinion leaders and activists, and support popular resistance in the face of the backward Imam project.

The political journalist, Saleh Abu Awdhel, downplayed the importance of these calls, and indicated in a post on his Twitter account that Al-Houthi is the weakest of people to the point that no one dares contact his relative residing abroad.
