The First Military Region, loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen, continues its rebellion against the recent decisions issued by the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, which led to the change of a number of military commanders in the region.

"NewsYemen" learned from a military source in Seiyun that the forces of the 135th Infantry Brigade, affiliated to the First Military Region, prevented the staff of the new First Military Region, Brigadier General "Amer bin Hatian Al-Nahdi" from entering his headquarters in the region's command.

According to the source, soldiers loyal to Brigadier General Yahya Abu Awja - the former staff of the war in the region - intercepted the convoy of Brigadier General Al Nahdi as he entered his workplace, in protest against what they called not giving them the daily allowance as was the practice during Abu Awja's command.

The source said that Brigadier General Al-Nahdi left the command of the first military region in Seiyun and headed to the Sharurah region on the Saudi border, to return with armed men from his tribe to impose a decision to appoint him by force.

The source confirmed that the city of Seiyun is currently witnessing great tension between the tribal militants loyal to Brigadier General Al-Nahdi, and the forces of the First Military Region, which reject the decision to appoint him and argue with many demands to prevent the new commander from performing his duties as staff of the region's war.

Negotiations are currently underway under mediation led by local and tribal officials in the Hadramout Valley in order to calm the situation and try to prevent the explosion of the situation in the Hadramout Valley, and to demobilize Abu Awja with his soldiers from inside the headquarters of the First Military Region to their locations in the western directorates of the Wadi Hadramout.

The Abu Awja rebellion is a continuation of previous rebellions led by the Brotherhood's Islah Party against the decisions of the Presidential Leadership Council in Shabwa and Al-Jawf.  Prominent Brotherhood leaders quickly rejected the decision to overthrow Abu Awja, who is one of the prominent Brotherhood military figures in the first military zone, vowing to repeat the scenario of Shabwa and Al-Jawf, refusing to hand over Wadi Hadramout, which includes the most important oil companies and crude oil wells.

"Ben Hatian", who comes from Wadi Hadramout, started his work on the 18th of last month in the leadership of the First Military Region, met with officers and soldiers, and inspected operations rooms, offices and military divisions with the Commander of the First Military Region, Major General Saleh Timis.

Brigadier General Al-Nahdi is considered one of the young military leaders who do not support the Brotherhood's Islah Party.  He participated in the operation to liberate the coast of Hadramout from the control of Al-Qaeda in 2016.

The military leader held several positions during the last period, including the commander of the Special Missions Battalion in the Hadrami Elite Force, the staff of the Al-Rayyan airport camp and the staff of the Gail Bawazir camp.  He participated in the operation to purify Al-Rayyan airport and the Ghail Bawazir district from the control of Al-Qaeda. He was also one of the military leaders participating in the operation to clear Wadi Al-Masini, one of Al-Qaeda's most important strongholds in Hadramout and Yemen.
