The port of Aden.. Recycling Houthi's lies exposes the Brotherhood's lies
English - Sunday 19 February 2023 الساعة 05:26 pmIn the midst of the ongoing controversy over the return of navigational activity to the port of Hodeidah, which is under Houthi control, the attempts of the Brotherhood and their allied forces to exploit the matter revealed the truth of the allegations that they had been promoting for years about the liberated ports.
With the Houthi group publishing allegations of allowing direct transit of all commercial ships to the ports of Hodeidah without detention or delay, it became clear that the Brotherhood's media and activists interacted on social media with these Houthi allegations.
The Brotherhood’s interaction with these allegations tended to support the Houthi group’s attempt to portray the matter as a result of secret negotiations between it and Saudi Arabia, which leads the coalition in Yemen, under Omani sponsorship, to reach a comprehensive agreement to renew the UN armistice and enter into political negotiations to end the war in Yemen.
What is remarkable about these Brotherhood attempts is that they did not stop promoting Houthi claims, but rather went beyond building on them in creating new allegations that this is a plot by the Arab coalition to strike the navigational movement in the liberated ports, especially the port of Aden.
These Brotherhood allegations, which were repeated by the group's media and activists during the past days, contradict their claims that have been repeated over the past years that the coalition imposes a blockade on the liberated ports by restricting the navigational movement, in contradiction that exposes the falsehood of these previous and current allegations.
Allegations that the Brotherhood and the forces and personalities hostile to the role of the coalition have been repeating during the past years, despite the fact that they are denied, as well as the facts that they deny, including the official reports issued by the Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation regarding the activity of the port of Aden in recent years, after and before the outbreak of the war in March 2015.
Where these reports show an increase in the activity of the port of Aden in terms of the number of containers and goods arriving to it, despite the war conditions and the imposition of double fees by marine insurance companies on goods arriving at Yemeni ports, due to their classification as high-risk, which also led to avoiding them by most international navigation lines.
According to the report issued by the Gulf of Aden Ports Corporation on the port’s activity during the past year 2022 AD, the Mualla berths received 210 ships carrying various goods, and the container terminal recorded the reception of 163 tankers, and the number of containers handled in the port reached about 368 thousand containers, while the total volume of goods reached Handling in the port is 76 thousand and 236 tons.
While the Corporation's report on the activity of the port of Aden during the year 2014 AD, i.e. before the outbreak of the war, indicates that 147 ships carrying various goods were received by Al-Mualla berths, and the container terminal recorded the reception of 246 tankers, and the number of containers handled in the port reached about 296 thousand containers, while the total volume of Goods handled at the port amounted to 57 thousand and 39 tons.
