Aden, NewsYemen:

The Dutch ambassador to Yemen, Peter Dirk Hoff, confirmed that the Houthi militia is not serious about stopping the war, making peace and ending the suffering of the Yemenis, indicating that he was in Sana'a, and reached a dead end with the Houthi leaders.

This came during a meeting with the local authority in the Ma'rib governorate, and he was briefed on the humanitarian situation and the size of the needs in the governorate, which includes the largest concentration of displaced persons in Yemen.

The Dutch ambassador indicated his interest in learning about the threat of mines randomly deployed by the Houthi militia on civilians and the humanitarian situation, and the repercussions of the militia's military escalation on the fronts, the targeting of oil export ports, its lack of commitment to implementing the terms of the armistice and its refusal to extend it, on the humanitarian situation in the governorate for the displaced and the host community.

"Hoff" said that they are witnessing the violations and escalation by the Houthi militia, which confirm its lack of seriousness in making peace.

He added that he "was in Sana'a and reached a dead end with the militia leaders to persuade them to respond to UN and international efforts to end the war and make peace."

According to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the meeting dealt with the repercussions and negative effects on the humanitarian situation in the governorate, as a result of the Houthi militia's continued escalation on the fronts, mobilization and recruitment of children, sending sabotage cells and serving with al-Qaeda and its expansion in laying mines indiscriminately to target civilians, targeting oil export ports,  and threatening state navigation.
