Aden, NewsYemen, exclusive:

Many directors, authors, and technical teams of Adeni art have triumphed by bringing it back to the fore on the local scene, until it recently reached participation in international festivals such as the movie "The  Burdened", which participated in the Berlin Film Festival.

One of the soldiers of these crews is the Adeni author and director Marwan Ali Mafraq, born on May 2, 1982, in the city of Aden.

He lived and grew up in this city and received his primary education at Al Mina School in Al Tawahi District, then moved to Kartir District and completed his elementary and preparatory studies at Crater School, then passed secondary school at Lutfi Jaafar Aman High School.  In 2007 he obtained a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Administrative Sciences, University of Aden.

He participated in many works of art in theater (TV and cinema) as author and assistant director, as well as in artistic direction.

Among the most important works in which he participated: the play “Maak Nazel ”, which was shown in Germany in 2010, and the play “Unsanitary Drainage” in 2014 with the Gulf of Aden Theater Group, of which he is considered one of the most prominent members.

As for television, he participated as the author of the series “One Last Chance” 2013 and the series “Closed Doors” 2016. As for the cinema, he participated in the movie “10 Days Before the Wedding” as an assistant director in 2018, a film that won many awards in several international festivals, and finally an assistant director in  The play "Hamlet".

Mafraq told NewsYemen: The victories and successes achieved by artworks were able to send messages to draw attention to the need to pay attention to cinema and restore life to its bowels.

He believed that the success of the dramas in looking from looking towards looking towards coexistence is characterized by a productive awareness that touches the reality of the Yemenis, as well as the diversity of dialects in the Yemeni series, because it sheds light on the culture of the region from which the nature and plot of the series is inspired.

He extended his sincere thanks to the writer and poet Amr Al-Aryani, who translated the text of the play Hamlet and transformed it into the Adenic dialect.  Where the play, which was held in the Legislative Council in Aden, "The Church", was widely accepted by the Aden public.

Regarding the author, Mafraq says that he is the visual and audio mediator of any literary work or idea, where all the details of the scene are written from place, time, image and sound.

He explained that the script of the series is much larger than the script of the film due to the multiplicity of characters and paths, while the script of the film is shorter and its path is specific, while the latter is called a theatrical script.

Finally, he hoped that culture and all fields would rise in our country, thanking all the audience and every true connoisseur of art.
