The stadiums crowded with fans in Hadramout and Aden sent messages to the local and international community that sport is the language of peace and that its fans are thirsty for the return of sports activity.

Seiyun, the capital of Hadramout Governorate, witnessed a loud football wedding, on Friday, in the final match of the Hadramout Cup, in the presence of a crowd that exceeded the capacity of the stadium, which confirmed that Hadramout sport is still at the pinnacle of giving and creativity.

Thousands of fans from the stands of Seiyun Sports Stadium succeeded in drawing an elegant picture of the sport, and ignited the enthusiasm of the citizens of southern and northern Yemen, who shared hundreds of pictures of the fans of the Hadramout Cup final.

Claims to complete the processing of stadiums

YOn social media platforms, citizens called on officials to complete the preparation of Seiyun Stadium, its stands and lighting, and all the stadiums of Hadramout Governorate, whose fans reflected a distinct image despite the scourge of war and the economic situation the country is going through, as a reflection of people's passion for sports.

Sports commentator Hassan Al-Aidarous, commentator of BN Sport channels, said: We create our beautiful moments ourselves, whatever the circumstances, and our passion and love for football translates this presence every year.

And he sent a message to those in charge of sports, that the sprawling governorate deserves greater attention to its sports infrastructure and stadiums, and this is a fundamental right among its rights.

For his part, sports critic Murad Abu Al-Rijal said, while I was watching the pictures of the Grand Final of the Hadramout Cup, I was stopped by the state of the Seiyun Olympic Stadium.  This stadium, as I watch it - in particular - always sums up in my mind the extent of corruption and failure that Yemen experienced throughout its modern era.

He criticized the officials as the stadium is still with its cement stands and asphalt court 22 years ago, and despite this, matches are played in it, and the officials have no intention of completing its construction, he said.  He added, "The corruption of our rulers will not be defeated by anyone."

While Al-Houtah Club won the penalty shootout, and was crowned champion of the Hadramout Cup for Clubs - the seventh edition - by defeating the Hadhramaut People with a penalty shootout 4-2, and Al-Ettifaq Club won the title for the first time in its history.

It is worth noting that Seiyun Stadium has been neglected for more than 15 years, except that in 2017 it was opened to play on its mud floor, then the stadium was grassed, but many completions were not equipped, although Hadramout governorate is rich in resources and oil.

Southern fans

As for Al-Hubaishi Stadium in the capital, Aden, it hosted thousands of fans a week ago in the Aden Cup final tournament, which was held under the auspices of the Youth and Sports Department of the Southern Transitional Council, organized by the Football Association, Aden branch, and supervised by the Youth and Sports Office in Aden.

The stadium witnessed a large attendance that exceeded the capacity of the stands, so that the rest of the fans spread out on the ground, while the fans came hours early before the match, including the elderly who are fans of the sport of the beautiful time.

The historic Martyr Al-Hubaishi Stadium in Aden, which was called the Municipal Stadium, is considered one of the oldest stadiums in Yemen, the Arabian Peninsula and the Arab world.  It was built and opened in 1905 .

It is worth noting that the Aden Cup comes within the football season of the capital, Aden 2023/2024, which is sponsored by the Department of Youth and Sports in the Transitional Council, which is represented by three tournaments: (Capital Aden Cup, the Cup of the late Ali Mohsen Al-Muraisi 27 Ramadan, and the Aden Premier League 2).
