The resignation of the Chief of Staff of the First Military Region, Brigadier General, Amer Abdullah Muhammad bin Hatyan, from his post, renewed the demands of the southerners regarding the liberation of the Hadramout Valley from the domination of the Brotherhood represented by the First Military Region, and the complete rejection of the decisions of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi regarding appointments as "promotional".

Brigadier General Ibn Hatyan justified his resignation, which he submitted to the Presidential Leadership Council, on Saturday, by the administrative and financial imbalances in the first region and the partisan loyalties based on them, which prevented the formation of a brigade under his leadership, similar to the former pillars of the region, Yahya Abu Awja, who was dismissed from his position in December 2022 to absorb the rejectionist popular anger because these forces are involved in sponsoring terrorism and providing a safe haven for extremist elements.

Activist and media figure Nafie bin Kulaib says, "We have spoken repeatedly that the Brotherhood's First Military Region is based on Brotherhood partisan loyalties and only implements its directives and protects only its influencers over the oil wealth of Wadi Hadhramout." He added, "Today, the Chief of Staff of the First Military Region, Brigadier General Amer, confirmed this.  Bin Hatian.

In turn, the activist Waddah bin Attia referred to Ibn Hatyan's suffering with the practices of the Brotherhood and the Houthis who control the brigades of the first region, and said: "Ibn Hadramout, the staff of the first military region who was appointed recently in place of Abu Awja, submits his resignation and complains about the chaos practiced by the Brotherhood and the Houthis who control the military brigades."

The head of the Center for Political Studies, Dr. Khaled Al-Shamiri, supports the Southerners’ talk about the Brotherhood’s control over the first region, and considered the resignation of the Chief of Staff of the First Military Region as evidence that the Brotherhood does not accept any leaders, even from the southerners, unless he is one of them and owes allegiance to the Brotherhood, indicating that the individuals in the first region rejects orders even at the administrative level, so how about if they are military orders?

Al-Shamiri believes that what happened is a rebellion at the instigation of the Brotherhood leaders to their followers and a systematic exclusion, and that there is no solution for the first military region except by leaving the southern lands, considering the decisions of the President of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, to change its leaders, is nothing but a lie and a play by which they wanted to underestimate the minds of the southern leadership and the southern people as a whole.

The head of Dar al-Maarif for Research and Statistics, an independent journalist, Saeed Bakran, agreed with al-Shamiri about al-Alimi's decisions, and said: "The fraudulent decisions issued by Rashad al-Alimi are overthrown by reality. They wanted Amer bin Hatian to be an analyst and a cover for forces that do not obey the military regime."

He added :”but he was honest with himself and turned the table in their faces.  Hadramawt's demands are fair and sincere, and do not accept games”
