Aden, NewsYemen:

A statement made by the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al Jaber, from Sanaa, angered the leaders of the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - after Al Jaber emphasized his country's role as a mediator between the Yemeni parties.

The Saudi ambassador said, on his Twitter account, on Monday, that his visit to Sanaa comes as part of the Kingdom's efforts to end the Yemeni crisis and support the initiative presented by his country in 2021.

In the ambassador's tweet, the ambassador said: "In continuation of the Kingdom's efforts to end the Yemeni crisis and in support of the initiative presented by the Kingdom in 2021 AD, I am visiting Sanaa, in the presence of a delegation from the brotherly Sultanate of Oman, with the aim of stabilizing the armistice and ceasefire, supporting the prisoner exchange process, and discussing ways of dialogue between the Yemeni components to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution."  In Yemen".

He added, "The Kingdom's government and people have stood for decades with the brothers in Yemen in the darkest circumstances and political and economic crises, and fraternal efforts have been continuing since 2011  to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly people of Yemen for the return of security, stability and economic prosperity."

The leader of the Houthi militia, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, was quick to make statements that appeared to be a response to the tweet of the Saudi ambassador, in which he implicitly affirmed that the Kingdom is not a party but a mediator.

Al-Houthi said, in statements reported by his group's media, that what he called the "enemy" pumps out leaks and rumors at every round of talks in order to shake the home front.

He added, "Dialogue with Saudi Arabia is the one leading the (aggression) after America, and it is based on this basis," which is a response to the statement of the Saudi ambassador who presented the Kingdom in the role of mediator.

The Houthi leader's statements bore indications that the Sana'a talks with the Saudi and Omani delegations did not go according to the desire of his group, as he hinted that his militias are present for all options and said: "If they want peace, we are people of peace, and if they want war, they have tried us for 8 years."  as he put it.
