Citizens complain about the extortion of cashiers and local banks, they refused to deal with the old dollar currency, 2006 and 2009 categories. Cashiers buy it less than other new dollar categories with an exchange rate difference Y.R 2000, causing citizens significant losses due to the exchange rate difference.

A citizen said to NewsYemen that exchange shops refuse to buy $ 100 edition 2006, and earlier, they buy it less than other new dollar categories with an exchange rate difference Y.R 2000, which is common in all exchange shops and local banks.

He added when citizens buy dollars from exchange shops, or exchange companies  they sell the dollar of the old and new categories at the same price to citizens, and refuse to sell the dollar of the new category only and to put old category within.

Another citizen told NewsYemen that when citizens transfer dollars abroad, exchange shops refuse to accept the old category, when citizens are going to receive a wire transfer, they handed them over the old category and refuse to hand  them over the full amount of the new dollar category.

Money exchangers do not fear the instructions of the Central Bank of Yemen, which is divided between Sana'a and Aden.

In April, the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden issued a circular over exchanging currencies from the old dollar categories, and stressed the need to deal with the same in exchanging dollar categories (1999 - 2001 - 2003 - 2006) at the market price.

The Central Bank of Yemen in Aden, which warned banks and bankers to spend money on dollar bills printed in 2006 and earlier at lower prices unless they were damaged or forged, did not take any regulatory or punitive measures against cashiers and banks, according to dealers on the banking market.

"All countries in the world are dealing with all categories of the old and new dollar and at the same price," said financial expert Mossa Abdulkafi. "

Money exchangers and bankers take the advantage of old dollar category a tool to loot and steal citizens in light of the weakness of the central bank's authority, he added.
