Sana’a / Dhamar – Newsyemen

Houthi militia ceased salaries of dozens of academics at Sana'a University and other government universities in the Houthi-controlled areas.

An academic source said that the militia stopped academics from working under the pretext of flimsy, including the lack of commitment or of being late to their work places or their delaying abroad while preparing for researches or scientific promotion.

Dhamar Dean said that Houthi militia dismissed 62 academics in the last two years, replacing them by group loyalty to it.

The Houthi militia ceased the salaries of three of the most important professors and scholars of history and archaeology at the University of Sana'a, two of whom worked at the University for more than forty years, and the third worked at the University for thirty-three years.
Houthi militias justified the dismiss decisions that the three academics were not committed to their duties.
