A military operation to liberate Damt city launched against the Houthi militias on November 5 last year. The army managed to liberate about 30 points, military sites, and 15 villages were controlled by the Houthi militias.

Upon the arrival of the army forces to al-Haqab village, the Houthi militias blew bridges and water passages in the asphalt road in al-Haqab village linking Damt city, planting dozens of mines and explosives.

The Houthi militias returned to shell civilians' houses in al-Haqab and Bait al-Yazeedi with mortars' shells, causing dozens of victims, including women and children. Dozens of houses were destroyed by the Houthi shelling.

The Houthi shelling caused a large wave of displacements. The entire families were displaced in al-Haqab village. Around 3,000 people distributed into 293 families, and 95% civilians of Bait al-Yazeedi were displaced.

The Houthi militias looted houses in al-Haqab village after the families were displaced under the Houthi shelling, including funds, jewelry, valuable property, light weapons, personal furniture, electronic devices, cattle and sheep.

Three months later, al-Haqab's people and Bait al-Yazeedi appealed to the Arab Coalition forces to complete the liberation process and expel the Houthi militias from their areas and villages.

A hundred days after the battle of liberation, the army forces stood on the outskirts of Damt city in the mountainous range stretching from al-Haqab, al-Harewah Mountain, Kenah, al-Athala, and al-Ma'aroush areas.
