Yemen's Bar Association holds President, Taiz Governor, accountable for civilians' safety

Yemen's Bar Association appealed for the UN envoy, the President, his Deputy and the Prime Minister, to rescue their families, children and other civilians under fire of militias of the Islah Party in Taiz city.

Tawfiq al-Sha'abi, the secretary-general of the Bar Association, said that he wrote his appeal at a difficult moment, the cries of his children mix with the intensified clashes between armed groups affiliated with the national Army.  

Al-Sha'abi said that battles and clashes are likely to escalate in the neighborhoods of Senah, al-Maroor, al-Daeri and others areas.

Tawfiq al-Sha'abi held the President, governor of Taiz, military and tribal leaders accountability and responsibility for the safety and security of innocent civilians.

"If something happens to me and my daughters at home, I will hold the accountable and the responsible for the Islah Part, the governor, and all Taiz leaders, said the lawyer Amal al-Sabri.

It is noteworthy that the militias of the Islah party launch a military campaign, using heavy and medium weapons, since Thursday, under the pretext of searching for wanted people south of Taiz city upon the directives of the governor Nabil Shamsan.

The armed clashes killed a gunman of the Islah Party and a gunman of the General People's Congress in the province.

The militias of the Islah Party burned the house of Yusuf al-Hayani and the headquarters of the GPC, as well as, the militias shell the headquarters of Abu al-Abbas battalions in the old city of Taiz.
