Media campaign forces Taiz Police to hand over house, occupied by al-Mekhlafi

Police in Taiz have returned a house of Samiha al-Aghbari three years after seizing it by Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi, a close associate of the Brigadier General Sadiq Sarhan, the commander of the 22nd Brigade in Taiz province.

Taiz Police announced in a statement Tuesday that they had handed over the citizen Samiha al-Aghbari her father's villa, which was seized by "gang members, a number of whom were arrested today," "according to the statement without mentioning the leader of the gang Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi."

Security forces headed to the house that controlled by al-Mekhlafi in al-Masbah area in Taiz city, arrested four followers, and liberated it and handed over the house for the family of Mohammed Abdullah al-Aghbari, sources said to Newsyemen.

According to the sources, Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi demanded large sums of money to evacuate the house, which the family had refused the order.

Al-Aghbari's house became a popular issue on social media after the Prosecution had stalled it, public opinions speed up to liberate the house, according to sources.

Al-Mekhlafi demanded a Y.R 100,000 per month for security al-Aghbari's house, naming the amount of money " as Protection Security".

The officer Sameer al-Ashbat said to Newsyemen that the villa of Mohammed Abdullah al-Aghbari handed over to his agent, his daughter, Samiha Mohammed Abdullah al-Aghbari, as part of the Police's efforts to deliver the private property to their owners.

According to Newsyemen sources, Ghazwan al-Mekhlafi still controls and occupies  a house in Wadi al-Qadi area in Taiz city since 2014,  he refused to evacuate the house, requesting amounts of money to get out of it.
