The closure of Aden - al-Dhale' - Ibb road in April forced the truck drivers to change their direction. They went to coastal road Aden - Mocha - al-Jarrahi - Ibb.

The closure caused more financial losses to the commercial sector, in particular in the areas seized by the Houthi militias.

After drivers were traveling from Aden province to Ibb province in a day, recently they took three days, according to truck drivers.

The price of tonnage has increased from Y.R 14,000 to Y.R 30,000 , putting more burdens on the trade sector in places that are still under the control of the Houthi militias.

The Houthi militias also imposed new royalties through establish Customs Clearance which also led the increasing the prices on all goods, including foodstuffs.

The Houthi militias forced merchants to financially support the Houthi religious celebrations which also linked with Iran.
