Held Islah leaders accountable for committing serious crimes ...Haq Organization announces first report documenting Popular Crowd Militias' crimes in old city of Taiz

Haq Organization for Freedoms and Rights announced on Thursday its first integrated rights report over a war launched by Brotherhood in Taiz, in particular against the old city of Taiz, Senah and Wadi al-Madam areas   

The report reviewed testimonies, and documentary evidence, voice and video, of the crimes that carried out by the Popular Crowd militias against innocent civilians in the old city of Taiz that taken place in March and April 2019

At a press conference,  speakers stressed that the failure of government authorities to explain why concrete steps had not been taken to adequately investigate the crimes committed had raised concerns among the families of the victims, who feared that perpetrators would never be held accountable for

They confirmed that the commander of the 22nd brigade and the commander of the 17th  brigade and active leaders of the Islah Party in Taiz are responsible for international criminal responsibility for crimes committed by regular armed forces and armed militias under their effective control; under documented orders issued by them, as individuals, and that their control over these forces and militias is not exercised properly

The organization confirmed that its field team confirmed that the number of civilian casualties was 51, and that they were injured as a result of the armed attacks on residential neighborhoods and the crimes of sniping which did not reach their goals in March - April 2019

The number of children injured was 13 (the youngest was 7 years old and the oldest was 14 years old, 5 were serious injuries and 8 were moderate injuries

The organization identified 15 people, the youngest of whom were 19 years old, the eldest (28) and (3) seriously injured, and 12 moderately injured, while the number of elderly persons (19 injured), including two younger women (37 years) and the oldest (70) years, and (6) serious injuries and (13) medium
