Armed clashes between leaders of Brotherhood over electricity generators in Taiz

Violent clashes broke out on Monday between gunmen on al-Tahrir Street and Central Market in Taiz city, central Yemen

A local source said to NewsYemen that clashes broke out between two armed groups, one belonging to the leader of the Islah party Abdo Farhan, known as Salim, which operates in the field of private electricity and is led by al-Azra, and the other group led by  the son of the commander of the 22nd Brigade Sadiq Sarhan

The clashes broke out a day after gunmen loyal to the commercial electricity owners fired at four electricity generators belonging to civilians in al-Awadhi roundabout and the Central market because of their refusal to subscribe in their private electricity institution

According to the sources, the gunmen belonging to the son of Sadiq Sarhan targeted the generator of electricity of the investor al-Naqib, which feeds al-Tahrir street and was completely destroyed

Three civilians were injured and several shops and cars were damaged by gunfire. It is noteworthy that the leaders of the Brotherhood use electricity generators belonging to the General Electricity Corporation in Taiz, and used them for personal benefits, which caused tension among the Islah groups, collected millions of riyals a month
