SabaFon announces to move its headquarters to Aden after Houthis seize its headquarters in Sana'a

GSMA Yemen Mobile Phone Company - Sabafon - announced Saturday its intention to move its headquarters and the company's operation to interim capital Aden due to arbitrary measures carried out by the Houthi militias in the Capital Sana'a province

The company called on all employees working at its headquarters in the Capital Sana'a to implement the decision of the board of directors and move to the exercise the company's functions in Aden city

The company said in a statement that steps are being taken to transfer the company's headquarters and its operations to Aden as soon as possible

The company announced armed groups of political and national security of the Houthi militias' authorities in Sana'a on Wednesday morning, and broke into the company in Sana'a and seized it and control its departments and change the guards and entrances and impose managers on the company's departments loyal to them

The company said in a statement that the militias had cut off the communication between managers, employees, shareholders and consultants in the company's various systems and stopped their email addresses and mobile phones

SabaFon called on all parties and individuals dealing with the company to stop dealing or communicating with email addresses and mobile phone numbers of all the company's managers and employees, shareholders and consultants, and not relying on what is issued from the day of the company's intrusion last Wednesday

The company called upon the government, the concerned people and the international community to take all necessary measures to reduce and alleviate the suffering of citizens benefiting from telecommunications services as a result of these illegal practices, which are criminalized by laws, constitutions and all divine laws
