The Houthi militia imposes taxes on the staff of local and international organizations

An employee of the Tax Authority in the capital Sanaa, which is under the authority of the Houthi coup militia, told "Newsyemen" that the Houthi militia has approved taxing the employees of local and international organizations working in Yemen.

He also added: The Houthi militia will apply the income tax on salaries and wages to all employees of local and foreign organizations, at 20% of the total salary, stressing that the militia has set procedures to ensure the implementation of the tax on the organizations, which is to stop any organization from working in areas under its control in case of non-compliance with its tax procedures.

 


The Iranian Houthi militia recently issued a circular to organizations operating in areas under its control prohibiting any employee to travel to the areas of legitimate government or abroad without prior permission, and that in the case of travel is submitted to the security authorities and the reasons for travel and the specific destination and length of stay,  Legal "prison".

According to the Ministry of Planning and Cooperation, there are 74 Arab and foreign NGOs operating in Yemen, according to the General Directorate of Organizations in the Ministry of Planning and Cooperation.  International.

 After the coup, the Houthi militia forced the international organizations working in Sanaa to absorb members of them to work for them at high salaries.  The militia threatens to force them out of the country.
