The UAE Red Crescent sends an aid convoy to 400 families in Mocha

On Monday, the UAE Red Crescent Society conducted a relief aid convoy for hundreds of eligible families in Mocha district on the western coast of Yemen.

The convoy includes 28 tons of foodstuffs, which are integrated food baskets for more than 400 families in the villages of Shadhli, Nubat Qusais and Al-Salima, in the isolation of Al-Zahari of the Directorate of Mocha, west of Taiz.

With this convoy, the volume of aid provided by the United Arab Emirates to the people of the western coast of Yemen will increase to 114,400 food parcels during the year 2019.

Local figures and officials said, in press statements, that the flow of Emirati aid through the Red Crescent Authority contributed to alleviating the suffering of thousands of Yemeni families during the war caused by Houthi militia.

It is noteworthy that the United Arab Emirates provides through its humanitarian arm, the Red Crescent Authority, integrated food baskets per month to the displaced families and the poorest families in the various districts of the West Coast, in addition to what it provides of assistance within the emergency response program.

The Emirates Red Crescent Authority depends in distributing its aid on a careful and renewed survey by specialists and in cooperation with social figures and citizens to ensure that aid reaches those in need along the western coast from the Dhubab Al-Mandab district of Taiz Governorate in the south to the liberated neighborhoods in the city of Hodeidah in the north.
