The Internet outage almost completely caused the suspension of all sectors and transactions, especially economic and commercial transactions, as well as the interruption of social media platforms after they were a haven for many segments of society, including academics, university students, media workers, writers and others.

"NewsYemen" polled the opinions of many citizens in the governorate of Abyan, in southern Yemen, about the impact of the internet outage on commercial transactions and transactions in government facilities, as well as on social networking.

In this context, community activist Nada Hassan Al-Salahi said to "NewsYemen" that "the internet service is necessary and its interruption affects many areas, such as transactions and financial transfers, as well as the process of communication between families and society."

As for Majid Abdullah Al Saadi, a wholesaler in the city of Zanjubar, Majid Abdullah Al Saadi told "Newsyemen" that the internet outage has made daily transactions difficult and the suffering of citizens and merchants compounded.

Al-Saadi adds: We, as dealers, deal with exchange firms through money transfers and communicate using the WhatsApp application, and now with the interruption and weakness of the Internet we have difficulty in communication. "

The internet outage has created an additional problem in government departments and institutions, as the process of paying salaries to employees as well as daily transactions for citizens has stopped.

Dr. Saleh Aqil, an academic at the University of Abyan, said in an interview with "NewsYemen" The Internet has become in such circumstances that we live in a very important social means of communicating with family, friends and relatives inside and outside the country, as well as an effective scientific method in research and learning, away from the trouble of libraries and book market prices and press sales.
