Aden, Newsyemen:

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on all parties in Yemen to "engage in a comprehensive dialogue to resolve their differences and address the legitimate concerns of all Yemenis, including southern groups."

"He is following with concern the developments on the ground in southern Yemen," Guterres said, in a statement attributed to his spokesperson.

The statement urged "all concerned stakeholders to exercise the utmost restraint and to refrain from any measures that would further escalate the situation."

The Secretary-General of the United Nations called for the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement, as well as focusing efforts to combat the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic and to respond to the floods that affected tens of thousands of Yemenis.

Guterres stressed the need to maintain the integrity of Yemeni institutions, reiterating that there is no solution to the conflict in Yemen except through a political settlement reached through negotiation.
