On Saturday 20 June, gunmen assassinated a soldier from the elite forces in the city of Azan in the Shabwa governorate, southeast of Yemen.

Local sources said that gunmen opened fire on the soldier, Bandar Hani Jawhar Al-Bunni, as he was returning to his home, riding his motorbike, near the "Khurma" camp, which is controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood.
It pointed out that the gunmen fled to an unknown destination after the assassination of the soldier and killed him.
While the southern resistance forces in Markha district managed, at dawn on Saturday, to ambush a number of military crews belonging to the militias of the Islah Party.
Field sources said to Newsyemen that the southern resistance forces targeted the Islah militia's areas with an elaborate ambush in the Markha district.
The sources confirmed that the ambush resulted in the death and injury of the militia and the damage of one of their military crews.
