The UAE Red Crescent distributes food aid to returning khokha fishermen from Eritrea

The relief teams of the Emirates Red Crescent have distributed urgent food aid to the fishermen of Al-Khokha city who returned from Eritrea after their release.

Aid was distributed to returning fishermen, as well as families of fishermen still in detention, at the Al-Khokha Fish Landing Center, which was rehabilitated and supplemented by the Emirates Crescent in the first half of 2019.

The Governor of Al-Hodeidah Governorate, Hassan Taher, during the distribution process, expressed his great thanks for the assistance provided by the UAE to the people of the coast.

He said that the Emirati Red Crescent is a pioneer institution in doing good, and it is the initiator and steward of humanitarian work, stressing that the fingerprints of the Crescent bear witness to its achievements in all service fields of the coast, including water, education and food.

For his part, Dr. Al-Masoudi, representative of the General People's Congress, affirmed, “The Crescent Authority is the support of the people of the coast through its humanitarian wing.”

A number of beneficiaries also expressed their thanks for providing this assistance in this critical circumstance they are passing through, thanking the Emirates humanitarian role in the coast in particular and Yemen in general.
