Aden, Newsyemen:

Brigadier General Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, the Leader of the National Resistance and a member of the Joint Command, has directed the formation of an emergency committee to deal with flood damage in the directorates of the West Coast in coordination with all partners in the humanitarian and relief field and the relevant authorities.

Brigadier General Tariq Saleh stressed the need to raise the level of coordination between the Human Services Department in the National Resistance, the humanitarian and relief organizations and the local authorities in the districts of the West Coast in the governorates of Taiz and Al-Hodeidah, to overcome the effects of the floods on the citizens and displaced families alike.

He cautioned that everything should be done to secure the camps for the displaced, especially the establishment of earthen barriers around them to block the torrential rains, and to count and assess the damage caused by the torrents during the past days.

He also directed to provide alternative shelters (tents) and emergency food aid to all affected families.

The Commander of the National Resistance instructed the Emergency Committee to develop emergency plans to cope with the worst possible effects of the floods on the districts of the West Coast in the event that heavy rains continue to rain in the coming days.
