Abyan, Newsyemen:

The Al-Amajed Brigade in Lawdar District shot down a drone launched by the Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, on Wednesday, in Abyan Governorate.

The Houthi militia launched the drone, while the Al-Amajed Brigade forces managed to shoot it down in the Jamajem area near the Mukairas district, which is 30 km from the Lauder district, the Abyan governorate, 20 km from the Al-Bayda governorate in central Yemen.

The forces of the Amajed Brigade, stationed on the outskirts of the city of Mukairas, were able to counter the attempts of the Houthi militias to infiltrate their sites and force them to retreat.

This came in conjunction with the announcement of the Southern Transitional Council, on Tuesday evening, that it would suspend its participation in the consultations to implement the mechanism to accelerate the Riyadh Agreement, which was underway between his delegation and the government of the interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi in the Saudi capital.

The Transitional Council affirmed that one of the reasons for suspending participation is the continuing and increasing pace of military escalation by the forces affiliated with the Yemeni government in Abyan Governorate, and their failure to adhere to the agreed ceasefire, as they carried out more than 350 documented violations, resulting in the deaths of more than 75 martyrs and wounded, and the military build-up operations continued towards the south, with the significant participation of al-Qaeda and ISIS elements within the framework of the forces affiliated with the Yemeni government in Abyan.

The Al-Amajed Brigade forces launched a campaign to liberate the city of Mukairas from the Houthi militia.
