Aden, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

On Thursday, October 15, 2020, the exchange of the first batch of prisoners and abductees took place between the legitimate government and the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.

The process came after an agreement was reached in Sweden that was stalled for more than a year and was agreed upon recently, while the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross sponsored the exchange process.

The operation included 710 prisoners from Al-Sharia and the Houthis, and the number of Houthis released reached 470 prisoners who returned from Saudi Arabia and Seiyun.

On the other hand, the militia released 221 of those affiliated with legitimacy and returned from Sana'a to Seiyun, among them civilians and journalists who had been kidnapped by the Houthi from homes and streets, in addition to 15 Saudi prisoners and 4 Sudanese.

On the second day, another exchange took place to exchange about 176 prisoners and abductees, including 75 prisoners of the joint forces on the western coast and arrested in connection with the December 2 revolution, while 101 Houthi prisoners arrived in Sana'a.

The Southern Transitional Council organized a huge reception event for the liberated joint forces prisoners, laying the red carpet at Aden Airport, and the Southern Resistance, the Fourth Military Region, and military and civil organizations honored them.

"NewsYemen" channel, on YouTube, publishes a motion graphic video, detailing the exchange of prisoners and abductees, which is the largest over the years of the war.
