Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Al-Tadamun Islamic Bank, one of the largest Yemeni private banks, said that intelligence agents came yesterday morning to the bank’s headquarters in Sana’a, and demanded the suspension of work in the bank and all its branches, the departure of employees, the suspension of main servers and the seizure of recording devices before returning them at a later time.

A source in the Central Bank of Yemen in the capital, Aden, told "Newsyemen" that the bank is currently working to lift the hand of the Houthi militia from the banks and the money of the opponents of the group that have been frozen and prevent the confiscation of any money.

It also directed a circular to banks not to dispose of any offices they have in all Yemeni governorates except in accordance with its directions.

Sources related to "NewsYemen" link between the storming of the Iranian arm of "Al-Tadamun bank" with "the money that the Houthi seeks to steal from suspended accounts, as the bank had previously refused to give al-Houthi powers to access any accounts it had.

Although he did not mention any of these details, Al-Tadamun Bank said, in two statements today (Thursday) last week on November 9, that these measures “have local and international repercussions,” calling for “the necessity to stop these measures and allow the bank to return to practice its business ”.

However, the bank talked about "the negative results that may affect the suspension of the Yemeni banking sector, and thus the economic activity in the country will stop completely, as a result of the mutual pressures it is exposed to by the Central Bank in Sana'a and Aden."

He said that, on Wednesday, the Public Prosecutor in Aden directed a summons to the managers of a number of banks for violating the circulars of the centers of Aden, and in return, in another procedure in Sana'a (stormed) the bank and suspended it from work in implementation of the directives of the Sana'a centers.

The statement said that the Houthi storming and confiscation of the bank’s servers “is a measure that stopped the interests and needs of people and had a negative impact on the bank’s customers and the work of international organizations that provide humanitarian aid to the community, which take Al-Tadamun Bank as a partner in delivering support to the needy classes.”
