A Security Report Reveals Names Of Al Qaeda Leaders Running The Presidential Protection Brigade

The Security Belt and Rapid Intervention Forces, in Abyan, southern Yemen, revealed the names of dangerous al-Qaeda leaders who are involved in the ranks of the forces affiliated with the legitimate government in the governorate, especially the Third Brigade, Presidential Protection.

The Belt Forces confirmed, in a security report, the death of the leader of the organization, Ali Ahmed Al-Qassma, on Friday, during confrontations between the southern forces, on the one hand, and the Muslim Brotherhood on the other hand, in the coastal "Shuqra".

The report said that the leader hails from the Mudiyah District and has been associated with Al-Qaeda following the return of the prominent leader in Al-Qaeda, Jamil Al-Anbari, from Iraq in the 1990s.

It was reported that “Ali Ahmed Al-Qassma,” was a student at the hands of the al-Qaeda leader Jamil al-Anbari and the legal mufti of al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (Muhammad Dramah - nicknamed Abu al-Bishr), and he was one of the planners to bomb the USS Cole, the USS Cole, on the coast of Aden in 2000.

The report indicated that the terrorist Ali Ahmad Al-Qasssa was captured by the fighters of the (Popular Committees) that were formed with government support after al-Qaeda's takeover of Abyan Governorate in early 2011.

He explained that "Al-Qassma" was arrested from a checkpoint of the Popular Committees in the coastal district of Shakra, accompanied by seven other members of the organization, and they were handed over to the Minister of Defense at the time, Major General Muhammad Nasser Ahmed.

The report said that the Ministry of Defense subsequently handed over the leader of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization Ali Al-Qassma to the Central Agency for Political Security and was detained until the beginning of 2015 before he was released as part of armed terrorist groups.


And the report continued: "After his release, the terrorist Ali Al-Qassma returned to his activity within the ranks of terrorist groups until the entry of the Security Belt Forces to Abyan Governorate, where the terrorist Al-Qassma escaped with the terrorist groups and was one of those wanted by the Security Belt."

He added, "After the August events, he moved within armed groups from Al-Qaeda to the Third Presidential Protection Brigade, accompanied by Haitham Al-Zamaki, who took over the coordination process between" Ansar al-Sharia "and the (legitimacy) forces to fight together against the southern forces in exchange for their support with money and weapons.

He confirmed that those terrorist elements are currently recruited into the Third Presidential Protection Brigade, which took over the process of polarizing them.

The security report said that some of those terrorist elements were killed, wounded and captured, while others were still fighting with the forces of the Third Brigade presidential protection against the southern forces.

He noted that the leaders of the Brotherhood militia summoned hundreds of its members, which are involved in the ranks of the Al Qaeda and ISIS organizations in the Al-Bayda and Marib governorates, to their fronts against the southern forces in Abyan governorate, and most of the elements became field leaders (battalion commanders) in the legitimate forces.

The Security Belt Report mentioned the names of 11 members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization, who are involved in the ranks of the Third Presidential Protection Brigade led by "Luay Al-Zamaki", known for his close association with the organization, and they are as follows:

 3_Adeeb Al-Sayed (a supporter of Al-Qaeda)

The Security Belt Forces in Abyan Governorate had revealed, in previous security reports, close relations between prominent leaders in the (legitimate forces) and al-Qaeda and ISIS.

It confirmed that the terrorist organizations' elements in the governorates of Al-Bayda, Abyan and Marib have received financial, logistical and weapons support from the leadership of the legitimate forces, and under the directives of the Vice President, General Ali Mohsen Al-Ahmar, who recently described by a French newspaper as (Al-Qaeda) in Yemen.
