Documenting 9,000 Houthi violations and 2,556 Brotherhood violations of private property

The Radar Organization for Human Rights in the Arab World announced that it documented the violations of the Houthi and Brotherhood militias on private property in Yemen during the period between 2014 and 2019, represented by the total and partial destruction, looting and seizure of homes, farms and cars, and the storming and looting of shops and commercial establishments.

Rights Radar for Human Rights said, in its latest update, “Yemen: Private Property Under Fire”, from which NewsYemen obtained a copy, that the Houthi militia committed 9,109 cases of violation of private property during the reporting period.

While the human rights organization has documented that the legitimate authority in Taiz - the Muslim Brotherhood militia - committed 2,556 cases of violation in the city under its control since 2015.

Rights Radar called on the United Nations to condemn all violations of civilians and their private property, and to refer the perpetrators of these violations to the judiciary to be held accountable and punished in accordance with the law.

The organization called on the de facto authorities to respect national and international laws, international charters and treaties, and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and to respect and protect citizens and their private property and not to target them during armed conflicts.
