Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Academic sources at Sanaa University revealed that the terrorist Houthi militia, which controls the university, issued forged academic certificates to militia leaders.

The sources told "NewsYemen" that the Houthi militia is using its control of Sanaa University to implement the largest fraud that has taken place in Yemen in the academic field by issuing academic certificates with a bachelor’s degree to several militia leaders from some colleges and by a fraud that undermines all the foundations and standards of the academic educational process.

According to the sources, the militias issued forged certificates to leaders belonging to the Houthi movement from the faculties of Sharia, Law, Trade, Economics, Education and Literature, among them Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of the so-called Supreme Political Council, and Abdullah Yahya Al-Hakim (Abu Ali Al-Hakem), who is on the list of international terrorists.

Sources explained that some of these leaderships, for whom certificates were forged, had their names restricted in the colleges with an ancient history, and on the basis that they had received education in those colleges for the legally and academically determined period, which did not happen at all.

It was pointed out that the reason for the Houthi militia forging university degrees for its leaders is to circumvent the legal criteria for occupying the public office, as most if not all Houthi leaders who have been appointed to positions in state institutions, especially in the position of undersecretary and lower, do not possess any educational qualifications or Academic, which caused many problems, protests and rejection by the leaders of these ministries on the one hand, and also by the Ministry of Civil Service, which was objecting to some appointments of Houthi leaders under the pretext that they did not meet the standards, especially with regard to qualifications.

The sources did not reveal the number of forged certificates issued by the militias to their leaders from some faculties of Sana'a University, but they confirmed that the number is large and is increasing annually, indicating that this issue is carried out in complete secrecy and only the president of the university and some Houthi leaders involved in the matter see it.

"NewsYemen" sources pointed out that the Houthi practices at Sanaa University, including the process of forging certificates of the movement's leaders, not only undermine the reputation of Sana'a University, but is one of the reasons that led to Yemen's removal from the global education quality index.

The Education Quality Index issued by the World Economic Forum in Davos announced that 6 Arab countries were out of the list of the global assessment of education quality, including Yemen, in addition to Syria, Iraq, Libya, Sudan and Somalia.

The global education quality index issued by the World Economic Forum in Davos is based on several criteria, the most important of which are "educational institutions and innovation, the macroeconomic environment, university education, training, health, and basic education."
