Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Militants belonging to the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - assassinated a tribal sheikh loyal to them in the middle of a public street in the capital, Sana'a, which is under the control of the Houthi militia since its armed coup in September 2014.

Tribal sources in Sanaa governorate stated to (NewsYemen) that armed men in the group's ranks opened fire at a car in which Sheikh / Muhalhal Ahmad Hassan Dabaan was traveling, on Tuesday morning, February 23, 2021 , on the Sanaa International Airport road north of Sanaa.

The incident is the second in a row within a few days of the assassination of the tribal sheikh loyal to the group in the Arhab tribe, Abu Nashtan with other members of his family.

The Houthi militia imposes a state of secrecy and media blackout about these incidents, which keeps its motives wrapped in ambiguity and numerous speculations.

These incidents raise a number of questions, as they indicate new data for the Houthi militia towards the liquidation of tribal leaders and figures who had an effective contribution to support them in 2014 and the storming and looting of state institutions.

The Houthi militia assassinated Sheikh Al-Warwari, one of the leaders of the Hashid tribe who supported the militia in controlling Amran Governorate and the capital, Sana'a, and "fought with it on several fronts."

Political sources in Sana'a, who spoke to (NewsYemen), believe that the increase in such operations is related to Iran's orientations in Sana'a and the region, aimed at striking the societal and tribal fabric and continuing to ignite wars, in a general scheme led by the commander in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the actual military ruler in Sanaa, Hassan Earlo.

Referring in this context to the assassination of the Yemeni politician in the ranks of the group, Hassan Zaid, on the day the (hypothetical) ambassador of Iran delivered his credentials in Sana'a, as a clear Iranian message to opponents of Iranian control of the Houthi militia’s decision in Sana'a.

And another political opinion, that such liquidations are expected after the dispensation of the services of the active tribal figures, and the increase in inter-conflict between the ranks of the higher leaders over the financial and military centers of weight in the looted state institutions in Sana'a and its neighboring governorates since September 2014.
