Sana'a, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

A citizen documented, through his phone lens, part of the theft and sabotage operation that affected the flood water drainage project in Sanaa, which is under the control of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen.

A widely circulated video clip shows that an organized gang uprooted the marble stones used as an upper belt to protect the walls of the project and give it an aesthetic appearance.

The uprooting of most of the marble stones appears in the part of the drainage site that extends from the Shumaila area to the Al-Sab’in area, and the stones of the walls themselves have been uprooted.

The citizens held the Houthi militia, and the mayor of the capital, Sanaa, appointed by it, Hammoud Abbad, fully responsible for the looting and sabotage of the flood water drainage project.

The major flood water drainage project is one of the most important and oldest service and development projects in Sana’a, as it represents the main estuary of the rainwater sub-carriers collected from the vicinity of the capital and its streets, as an open channel across the city from south to north. It also contributed significantly to improving the urban organization and the aesthetic view of the city.  , through the establishment of parks and green spaces in some parts of it, especially adjacent to the old city of Sana’a.
