Hayes, NewsYemen, and Essam Hadrami:

The city of Hes was famous for the cultivation of cotton, sesame, mango, lemon and all kinds of corn, as most of the original inhabitants of Hes owned agricultural lands.

The most famous of these families are the Hadrami House, Beit Hamna, Beit Mahdeen, Beit Dora, Beit Al-Matari, Beit Salim, Beit Habit, Beit Maarouf, Beit Rajeh, Beit Bira, Beit Mashhour, and Beit Al-Shazly, and many of the residents of Hays depend on agriculture.

But the Houthi militia’s war on people’s lives and their livelihoods destroyed everything beautiful and turned the majority of farms into military barracks and barracks in which they are now holed up outside the city, and has cut off the only source of livelihood for farmers in Hays district, as in most of Hodeidah districts.

Before liberating the district from the priestly militias, and in the farms overlooking the district, my older brother went, one of them says, as he used to go from his childhood in the early morning to harvest the ripe fruits, and he was surprised by a sharp question from a Houthi supervisor, what are you doing here?  My brother shouted at him: What are you doing here?  This is my farm!

The supervisor took him and kept him for hours in his office as a punishment for asking him a question - in response to his question - that he could not answer. What are you doing here?

Until now, Hays suffers, just as Al-Tahita suffers, from the priesthood's control over the farms and the citizen's livelihood, and our farms are still in their hands.
