Aden, NewsYemen:

The leader of the militia, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, vowed to control all of Yemen, amid the escalation of battles in the eastern province of Marib.

In a televised speech broadcast by the group's mouthpiece, Al Masirah channel, he said: "We will liberate all of our country and take back all the areas occupied by the coalition of aggression," referring to the liberated areas under the influence of the legitimate government.

He added: "We have made our choice, and we have made our decision with insight. We will liberate all of our country and restore all areas occupied by the coalition, and we will guarantee our country to be free and independent, not subject to occupation or tutelage."

Al-Houthi’s confirmation of the military option comes days before the new UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, officially assumed his duties, and international moves to stop the attack on Marib Governorate.

Last August, the United Nations confirmed the Houthi militia's refusal to engage in peace talks and set conditions, including lifting restrictions on airports and ports, and ending the Arab coalition's intervention and presence in Yemen, warning of the consequences of this and its impact on the crisis in Yemen.

The Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations for the Middle East, Talib Khiari, said that no progress has been made regarding the points raised by the United Nations to reach peace in Yemen.

The UN official added that the Houthis are imposing conditions for their participation in the political process, including opening ports and airports and ending what they call "aggression", before resuming their participation in the peace process.

Earlier, the Houthi leader stipulated the cessation of Arab coalition operations in Yemen and the final withdrawal of his forces from the country, before talking about any moves towards political negotiations.

"It is impossible to stop the fighting before these demands and conditions are implemented," he said.

He continued, "The battle is a necessary and inevitable battle, and there is no alternative to it but surrender," confirming the group's insistence on going to war to the fullest extent.

And the militia leader ordered "to continue to supply the fighting fronts, and to have a double activity in the mobilization process," calling on his followers to move firmly and without weakness or apathy to those he described as "enemies."
