Marib, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Today, the Iranian-backed Houthi militia continued its combat operations towards the city of Marib and the oil and gas sources in Safer, through three main axes, after achieving a qualitative breakthrough in the southern axis from Rahba, south of Marib Governorate.

Field sources stated that the tribes, backed by the fighters of the Arab coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, managed at dawn today, to repel a large-scale attack by the militias towards the Jabal Murad district, after they took control of the areas of Al-Musharif, Baqatha and the Al-Abzakh mountain range, and reached the areas of Ma’in and Baghyia in the city of Al-Kola, the center of the Rahba district.

The sources pointed out that the attack towards Jabal Murad came through two axes, the first from the Rahba side, and the second from the Al-Sadara triangle in the Mahlia district, at that time the coalition fighters intervened and launched 18 successive raids on the positions and reinforcements of the advanced militias, which led to the killing and wounding of many Houthis, and the destruction of two tanks, three armored vehicles and 6 armed crews.

In the second axis, on the Al-Kasara and Al-Mashjah front, west of the city of Marib, shelling and confrontations continued between the two sides in separate areas of those fronts, all the way to the Al-Zour and Al-Balaq fronts, and the outskirts of Mudaghl District, but the coalition raids prevented the continuation of progress on that front, and the fighting continued.  In the vicinity of Tabbat al-Masrya, the last natural fortifications that separate the Houthis from the outskirts of the city of Marib, on the side of Serwah Road.

In the third axis, the militias renewed their bombardment and attempt to advance on the Shahla front, east of Bir al-Maraziq in al-Jawf governorate, close to the northwestern border of the city of Marib, on the side of the Mudaghl district, and close to the international road linking al-Jawf and Marib, during which the al-Jawf tribes managed to thwart the attack and Houthi attempts to control on the road.

Local sources in Al-Jawf stated that the militias sent more combat reinforcements to the Al-Jawf fronts near Marib, concentrated in the areas of Al-Alam, Al-Jadafir, and Al-Rayyan desert, where the Al-Shahla front is located, and they are preparing to launch a massive attack towards Marib.

The militias are trying to reach the areas closest to the center of the city of Marib, through the three main axes, the closest of which is the axis of al-Kasara to Serwah, in order to pressure the forces stationed inside the city to accept their initiative that they presented to the Omani delegation for a solution in the city of Marib, which was rejected by the tribes during  the last period.

According to military observers, the next few days will witness a remarkable escalation of hostilities in Marib, by the militias, which received direct directives and orders from their leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi in his last speech, in which he stressed the importance of restoring areas under the control of legitimacy and what he called "occupation."  Its head is the oil sources in Ma'rib and Shabwa.

The tribes of Marib and Al-Jawf, which pledged to defend their lands from any Houthi attacks, fear that they will fall victim to a conspiracy by military leaders in the government forces, as happened on the fronts around Sanaa and Al-Jawf, and in the Jabara Valley front in Saada governorate, where those areas were conspired and handed over to the Houthis without fight.
