Marib, NewsYemen, Exclusive :

Field sources in southern Marib confirmed the continuation of violent battles between the governorate’s tribes and units of government forces on the one hand, and the Houthi militia, Iran’s arm in Yemen, on the other hand, on the outskirts of the Abdiyah district in the south of the governorate, as well as their continuation in “Aqabat Mala’a” northwest of the city. Harib, and the surroundings of the dam located above Aqaba, and Mala'a, directly overlooking the "Umm Rbeish" camp.

Al-Abdiyah was attacked from three axes: The first, from Mahiliya side.

The second, from Numan al-Bayda. And the third, from the Harib Marib side, where the directorate was located between three Houthi fronts.

Five districts fell into the hands of the Houthis, within a week, after coordinating with the Brotherhood "Islah Party", which are Bayhan, Usaylan and Al-Ain in Shabwa, Harib and Al-Abdiyah in Marib, while the government forces command issued orders to arrest Brigadier General Abdullah Mutwan Al-Farajah, commander of the first reserve brigade, for selling weapons to the Houthis.

While the leaders of the priority of the Bayhan axis and the Bayda axis, who handed over the positions to the militias, were not held accountable, while informed sources spoke about the killing of Major General Muhammad bin Aboud al-Sharif, the first undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, in the battles south of Marib.

For its part, the fighters of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia launched a series of raids on the army’s weapons depots from the camps from which the soldiers and commanders fled, including the “Umm Rubaish” camp, where weapons depots were destroyed for fear of looting by the Houthis who became close to the camp.

According to the sources, directives were issued by the coalition leadership to the leaders of the third and seventh military regions in Marib, to withdraw all heavy weapons from the Marib camps, towards Al-Abr and Hadramout, with the Houthis approaching the last areas of legitimacy.

After the Houthis take control of Harib Marib, they will have three options: the first, to advance directly towards the oil and gas sources in Safer, but in front of them is an open desert area whose elements may be subjected to extermination by the coalition fighters and the Marib tribes that are working to secure the governorate’s deserts.

The second option is to advance directly to the Balk Mountains, which are divided into three sections: “Eastern Balk, tribal Balk, and Middle Balk.” In the event of the tribal Balk being controlled, the districts of Juba and Jabal Murad would be under fire control.

The third option is to advance directly towards the Al-Jobah district, where the road ahead is impassable, and to control the strategic Al-Juba Triangle linking the governorates of Al-Bayda, Shabwa and Marib, which is expected by Yemeni military sources.
