Sana'a, NewsYemen:

Informed sources at the University of Sanaa revealed Houthi efforts to loot lands owned by the university next to the College of Medicine and Health Sciences in the Mazbah area, north of Sanaa.

The sources indicated that influential figures in the ranks of the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - sought to rob the university's lands designated for the construction of future educational and research facilities, in light of the complicity and silence of the university's leadership loyal to the group.

Academics and university workers launched an appeal to all concerned to do their duty to protect the public domain and protect public interests, including the lands of Sana'a University, which are public interests.

They called on "all members of the university to unite to record a single position refusing to give up an inch of the university's property."
