Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

A local source told NewsYemen that the leadership of the Houthi militia, Iran's arm in Yemen, intends to make extensive changes in its unrecognized government.

The source explained that the changes will include a number of ministers, governors, general directors of directorates and directors of executive offices in Sana'a and the governorates under the control of the Houthi militia.

He pointed out that the process of changes will be made to the officials who failed to double the financial revenues and do not interact with all the sectarian activities held by the Houthi militia from time to time, as the militia allocated a committee to evaluate this.

The changes will include the military and security sectors, and they began this week with the appointment of the Houthi leader, Ahmed Al-Qahoum, as a replacement for Muhammad Al-Mansour, as director general of traffic in the secretariat.

The source noted that most of the new appointments of personalities owe personal loyalty to prominent Houthi leaders, suggesting that the majority of names were chosen, as usual, on the basis of dynastic affiliation.

He pointed out that the militia will promote these changes as part of its reform and construction approach within the hijacked state institutions, and that it comes in response to citizens' entitlements and within its plans to combat corruption.

Observers believe that the Houthi changes are part of its preparations in the event of the failure of any peace negotiations with the forces opposed to it, with the aim of absorbing the rising popular anger against it and citizens' dissatisfaction with the living situation and recurring crises, raising the prices of fuel and household gas, and the rise in food, pharmaceutical and consumer prices in the areas under its control.

They pointed out that the changes to rearrange the internal militia's cards and calm the internal conflict between its wings, as well as the ability of the move to preoccupy public opinion in the areas under its control.
