Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

From Ramadan to Ramadan, the Houthi militia continues to impoverish citizens in Sanaa and the neighboring governorates, according to comprehensive systematic plans, starting with looting the salaries of state employees, passing through the imposition of royalties and levies, and imposing deadly price doses, and not ending with the piracy of Ramadan alms.

The Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - loots billions of Yemeni riyals cut from the population’s food under the headings of illegal customs, additional taxes, improvement fees, supervision fees, protection fees, non-existent service fees, and fees for names that God has sent down from the Sultan, thus multiplying the burdens on citizens exponentially in  Increasing the prices of food commodities, transportation fees, electricity and water bills and all aspects of life.

Instead of disbursing social security salaries and subsidizing the poor and people with special needs in a manner that preserves their dignity, and spending on local council projects in all Yemeni districts, governorates, and villages, the Houthi militia has turned the zakat revenues into a family investment project that inflates the armchairs of the group’s leaders, and is shown through the media with crumbs of crumbs for the group’s followers.  Of the last degree, the so-called projects of Ramadan breakfast tables, watering the way and food baskets.

In the Ma’in district of Sana’a city, the militia claimed this Ramadan that 15,000 people benefited from what it called the “Water Sabil Points” project, which it said targets 21 neighborhoods with about 50 water tanks, which are usually filled daily at the expense of benefactors from the residents of Sana’a.  Businessmen and philanthropists took the initiative to innovate these points since the water projects stopped in 2015.

In the same directorate, the militia claimed that it implemented a project for breakfast tables for fasting people in 200 neighborhoods and neighborhoods, including an iftar meal (its components cannot be mentioned in the media in order to preserve the feelings of the beneficiaries), in what it said were community initiatives for businessmen and merchants from the residents of the region.

The Houthi aggression against the residents of Sanaa and the neighboring governorates did not stop at looting the salaries of their employees, imposing royalties on their merchants, looting and privatizing health, education, water and electricity institutions, and transforming their equipment into investment projects for the benefit of the group, nor turning the majority of the population into destitute poor (beggars and wayfarer ).

What the residents of Sanaa never expected was that they would be absent during Ramadan this year from the aid of a number of merchants and businessmen, such as the well-known merchant in Sana’a, Haider Fahim, who used to provide Ramadan food baskets to the needy as a self-initiative and a Ramadan habit that Sana’a has known throughout history.

In a Sanaa sarcastic tone, Hajj/ Abdullah Dirham - a resident of Sanaa - comments that the aid of merchant Haider Fahem for this year was hacked by the internal siege, in an explicit reference to the Houthi militia's piracy of Ramadan alms for this year and the merchant's prevention of Fahim from distributing it to the residents of Sana'a.
