The Leadership Council forms the Military and Security Committee headed by Major General Haitham Qassem

 On Monday, the Presidential Leadership Council approved the formation of the joint security and military committee to achieve security and stability, and to restructure the armed and security forces in accordance with Article No. (5) of the Declaration on the Transfer of Power in Yemen.

 This came during a meeting held by the Council headed by Rashad Al-Alimi, and in the presence of the Vice-Chairman of the Leadership Council, Major General Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Dr. Abdullah Al-Alimi, Brigadier Abdul Rahman Al-Muharrami, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, and through the Department of Visual Communication, Brigadier Tariq Muhammad Abdullah Saleh, and Othman Majali, while he was absent from the meeting with a reasoned excuse, Major General Sultan Al-Arada.

Article (5) of the Declaration of the Transfer of Power stipulates “the formation of a joint security and military committee to achieve security and stability by adopting policies that would prevent any armed confrontations, create conditions and take the necessary steps to achieve the integration of forces under a unified national leadership structure within the framework of the rule of law.”  Ending the division in the armed forces and addressing its causes.

The council agreed to form a 59-member military and security committee headed by Major General Haitham Qassem Taher, Major General Taher Ali Al-Aqili as a deputy, and Brigadier General Hussein Al-Hayal as a rapporteur.

According to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the Presidential Command Council approved the formation of a committee to assess and restructure the intelligence services, stressing the importance of these committees carrying out their duties in achieving security and stability, and adopting policies to ensure the integration of all military and security forces in the service of the battle to restore the state and protect the gains of the current national consensus with the support of  Brothers in the countries of the coalition to support legitimacy led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
